[Blogger Jessie] AestheLift Thread Lift at CeleVenus Wellness & Aesthetic Clinic
Many of you had been curious and asking me what PDO Thread Lift is like since it is a rather new procedure here in Singapore after I posted some photos on Social Media.
So I am very excited to get this post up as soon as I can. I tried to search online for more info and reviews but sadly no other bloggers had blogged about it before here in Singapore though it is getting really popular in Japan and other parts of South East Asia.
Anyway I might be the first to blog about it in Singapore so I would try my best to put as much info as I can for those of you considering this option.
Advantages of AestheLift vs Dermal Filler
- AestheLift last longer (up to 2 years), filler 6 – 12 months
- AestheLift more structured feel as it is solid, filler more ‘rounded’ feel as it is liquid gel form.
- AestheLift stays where it is inserted, filler may ‘migrate’ to surrounding areas as it is liquid.
- AestheLift can shape nose bridge as well as nose tip, but filler can only heighten the bridge
Why I chose to go for AestheLift?
I didn't like the idea of fillers as the effect goes away very quickly. Since fillers are gel/ semi liquid, it cannot give me a more solid looking nose that I wish for. Fillers are also mostly only good for bringing up the nose bridge and they can't do much lifting effect on a rounded tip nose like mine.
AestheLift being the new version of PDO Thread lift has none of the drawbacks compared to traditional lifting methods as well. My whole procedure of doing the nose bridge and the tip took less than 1 hour. Pretty much like a lunch time treatment but the Traditional Thread Lifting will take 2 -3 hours.
AestheLift is also considered a very minimal invasive procedure compared to Rhinoplasty. Pain is mild since local anaesthesia is being used.
The effect can last up to 2 years with no risk of scaring or infection. Even after 2 years, the nose will still be sharper compared to pre-procedure as collagen and blood vessels would have grown around it.
AestheLift can be done on anywhere on the body and face too.
The bruising or swelling is also mild. Results is immediate after the swelling gone down in a few days time.
Above photo shows the thread used for doing the tip of the nose. Do take note the needle look massive because I am taking the photo in an incredibiliy close up angle.
The bottom photo shows the older type traditional thread used(left in yellow) and the new AestheLift Thread Lift(right in green) that is much thicker with stronger hold and lasts longer.
The fine threads are called polydioxanone (PDO) which is a synthetic absorbable monofilament thread commonly used in cardiovascular surgery and fine ligatures. The ultra thin (0.12mm) thread are inserted into targeted areas under the skin to stimulate skin tissue. As a result, the skin tissues create new tissue fibroblasts and collagen, which produces a tightening effect from inside out.
I went to Celevenus Wellness & Aesthetic Clinic at Ngee Ann City to do it as Dr Dylan is one who constantly updates himself with the latest in medical aesthetics. He is also the Key Opinion Leader for AestheLift. So I trust that he would be able to do a great job on my nose.
First, they applied numbing cream on the surface of my nose for about 20 minutes so that it will be less painful when they inject the local anaesthesia when they start the advance 3D Thread Lifting procedure.
Dr Dylan took a while to examine my nose on the best angle and the best way to lift my nose. Once he done that, he marked the entry point of the needles with a red marker.
I had 11 of the long threads above put into my nose bridge and 6 of the short ones for the tip.
It might sound or look scary(*I wasn't a big fan of needles at all, I doubt anyone is*) but......... once the local anaesthesia took effect, I could hardly feel anything at all throughout the procedure. Dr Dylan told me on the average usually about 10 to 15 long threads would be inserted for the nose bridge.
I was guessing and thought I would need more than 15 initially. But 11 is enough for my nose. Heheee.... The amount of threads to be inserted would depend on the size of the nose and how flat the nose is. Dr Dylan even inserted 20 before, as needed if the nose is much flatter and needed more lifting.
Local anaesthesia was injected at the tip and all along the nose bridge. Having the anaesthesia injected at the tip was probably the most painful part of the entire process. Like an angry ant biting me but it only took about 10 - 15 seconds before it all goes numb.
I am gonna be showing you the insertion photo from all different angles to make you feel like you are there watching me live ok? It's not going to be all gross and bloody. I promise!!! If you are having lunch or dinner while reading this you are ok. :)
You should be able to see that my nose gets higher and higher in the next few photos. :) :) :)
The needle was inserted to guide the thread along the nose. Once the needle was removed, the thread stays inside the nose and gets dissolved slowly over the 2 years period and absorbed into the body safely.
Once the nose bridge is done, Dr Dylan move on to start on the nose tip insertion.
Like I mentioned above, one of the reason why I chose AestheLift is because I have a rounded nose tip and that I wanted to have a sharper tip with a more solid nose which fillers can't achieve.
For the nose tip, the insertion is done from the same entry point but from top down instead of bottom up.
I still don't feel anything and no pain at this point. Although Dr Dylan kept asking me if I feel any pain, I can tell him so he could inject more local anaesthesia.
I was really amazed and in awe when I saw what the AestheLift can do for my rounded nose tip as over the years doctors had been telling me that the only way I could get a sharp tip is to go for Rhinoplasty which at this point in time I wasn't comfortable with such an invasive procedure.
OMG! My tip was actually lifted up and FINALLY POINTED!!! I am SO HAPPY!!!! :) :) :)
Cool right? The effect is like I just had ''Rhinoplasty'' done on my nose but minus the pain, swelling, bruising and the downtime...etc.
*Love Love Love*
Results is instant although the front view is not so obvious yet because of some swelling going on which will clear up in a couple of days to see a more natural effect.
Just that you can see, my nose wasn't even that red above right after the AestheLift and I don't feel pain even when the anaesthesia effect had worn off so I just went on to my work appointments after that until night time.
From the Day 2 and Day 3 photos, you can see the swelling along the whole nose and especially in-between the eyes. *Looking a bit like AVATAR there*. This is normal because your body will take a while to react to it. There is no pain though unless you purposely go and press on your nose. My son hit my nose a few times but I would advice to restrain from fighting for a couple of days and avoid touching your nose.
In my case, ''fighting'' with my son when he is trying to grab my glasses. LOL! I would say the swelling is at it's worse on the 2nd and 3rd day so if you are thinking of doing the AestheLift, try not to make any appointments on the 2nd and 3rd day. *Unless you are going for a halloween party dressing up as AVATAR* :)
The swelling starts to subside on Day 4.
The swelling really depends also on the individual, so some might swell less than me or some might be more than me. Some might swell for more days or some might swell for lesser days than me. I am just giving an estimation that swelling might take about 4 to 5 days. Do don't come and box me on my nose if you did AestheLift and swell a few more days then me ok? psshhhh.... :)
The wound where the insertion of the needles are located was already healed up on the second day. Above is an close up photo of the nose tip on the second day.
This is the front view of how my nose look like after 10 days when all the swelling has gone away. *Side view you saw above already*
I super love how natural it looks!
