Laser Skin Rejuvenation treatments... because as we mature in life, there are many things that we reluctantly gain such as weight and age. And on the other end of the scale, we also lose many things that treasure – youth, skin suppleness and collagen.

Collagen is as important to our skin as how roots are quintessential to trees. This support network weakens with time. Because collagen is made of protein, many food scientists create collagen supplements in the form of pills and powder to revive what was lost – skin elasticity.

But is there a risk to this consumption?

Can you regain what is lost?

How do you stimulate natural collagen growth and production without involving risk to your health?

Can you reverse natural loss?

Yes, you can with laser skin rejuvenation.

Laser skin rejuvenation is a non-invasive facial treatment that uses light energy to improve the texture and clarity of the skin. This laser gently stimulates natural collagen growth, reduce open pores, remove pigmentation and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Laser skin rejuvenation can help your skin look younger and healthier, maybe even better than it was a decade ago.

As the new collagen is generated, lines and wrinkles are decreased.

It has been reported and studies have confirmed that this procedure results in a refreshed appearance, smoother skin texture, an even skin tone and a decrease in pore size.

Those with advance acne scarring will also notice a marked improvement. Laser skin rejuvenation does not affect the outer layers of skin, so there is no downtime or prolonged healing process at all.

Laser skin rejuvenation is a perfect treatment for those who wish to:
• Reduce oiliness
• Shrink pore size
• Improve facial laxity and textural problems
• Minimise skin discolourations
• Reduce visibility of acne scars
• Diminish fine lines, creases and wrinkles

FREQUENT QUESTION AND ANSWER ON LASER SKIN REJUVENATION

What body areas can be treated?

The laser can be used to rejuvenate many body areas including the face, hands, neck and chest.

What can I expect after a treatment?

After a laser session, there is rarely any visible effect beyond mild to moderate redness, which usually fades within an hour after treatment. Since there is no wound or injury to the skin, makeup can be applied straight away. Patients can immediately resume their regular daily activities since there is no downtime associated with laser skin rejuvenation treatments.

No specific care is needed after treatment, although you may be asked to avoid sun and some skin products for a period of time after the treatment. It is important to follow your doctor’s instructions exactly.

How fast will I see the results, and how many treatments will I need?

Laser skin rejuvenation is a gradual process. Usually patients need 4-6 treatments spaced at 3-5 weeks apart. Many patients choose to return for touch-up treatments after the initial treatment session ends.

What happens during the treatment?

The skin is thoroughly cleansed, and laser-protective goggles are placed over the eyes. A topical anaesthesia can be used if the patient so desires.

An invisible laser beam is directed at the face, which heats up the deeper layers of the dermis to stimulate collagen production.

How long does each treatment take?

Each treatment session is about 45 minutes.

 Is it painful?

One of the main benefits of treatment with the Medlite laser is that it offers a very comfortable treatment. This is due largely to the fact that the Medlite does not work by heating the skin. The sensation can be described more as a tingling feeling.

Anaesthesia is generally not necessary for treatment with this laser. However, topical anaesthesia cream is readily available upon request.

How does it work?

Unlike laser skin resurfacing, laser skin rejuvenation does not actually remove the outermost layers of the skin. Skin rejuvenation uses a gentle laser to pass light harmlessly through the upper layer of skin allowing the laser heat to stimulate collagen growth deep beneath your skin. This collagen will continue to develop after the treatment. Over the next months, your body will slowly and naturally fill in wrinkles and scars on its own.

Additionally, as the laser light penetrates age spots and other pigmentation, these areas are broken apart and absorbed into the skin. The result is smoother, healthier skin with fewer fine lines, pigmentation and other imperfections.

Is laser skin rejuvenation right for me?

Because the action of laser skin rejuvenation is non-ablative - does not remove any skin - there are many benefits over other traditional laser procedures. The laser treatment is quick and offers no downtime - you can immediately return to your normal activities. There is minimal discomfort, and a very low risk of any complications. Patients will experience progressive improvement over several months for a fresh, natural look.

Laser skin rejuvenation is compatible with a whole host of other cosmetic procedures so that maximum results can be achieved.

Who is not suitable for laser skin rejuvenation?

Although laser treatments can be used effectively on darker skin, individuals with darker skin tones should be assessed for suitability beforehand.
