Asia Derma Conference - Brands and Speakers at Conference
The Asia Derma conference that took place from 5th to 7th December last year delivered expertly curated content on dermatology and other skin concerns in Asia. It is the first conference of its kind to combine medical dermatology and aesthetic dermatology in a single platform.
Asia Derma conference delegates had the opportunity to discover the latest advancements and treatments in aesthetic dermatology, including Skin Rejuvenation, Toxin and Fillers, and got to know more about Asian-centric skin concerns and trends from industry leading experts in a series of plenary lectures.
The conference programme was conceptualised by the Asia Derma 2018 Scientific Committee, which comprised of the best regional and international minds and faculty experts in clinical and aesthetic dermatology, headed by Chairman Professor Goh Chee Leok.
Renowned doctors and their areas of discussion included:
Professor Luca Borradori, Head of Dermatology at University Hospital, Inselspital Bern, on bullous pemphigoid. He had in the past, been backed by the Swiss National Foundation of Research, and published over 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Professor Akimichi Morita, Chairman of the Department of Geriatric and Environmental Dermatology, Nagoya City University Graduate School of Medical Sciences, shed light on phototherapy. He is also the President of the Japanese Society of Investigative Dermatology.
Professor Henry Lim, Chair Emeritus, Department of Dermatology, Henry Ford Hospital Medical Centre, illustrated what physicians need to know about biologics. He is also currently the President of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Professor Giuseppe Micali, Professor and Director, Department of Dermatology, University of Catania, on atopic dermatitis. He also sits on the Editorial Board of Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, International Journal of Dermatology, Journal of Dermatology Treatment, Skin Appendage Disorders.
Dr Joyce Lim Teng, on alternatives to hydroquinone treatments, as a breakthrough in hyperpigmentation treatment. Dr Joyce is a dermatologist in private practice at her clinic, Joyce Lim Skin and Laser Clinic in Singapore.
There was also a showcase of the top Korean skincare and dermatological brands, and Korea’s involvement in Asia Derma is proudly supported by Korea’s International Beauty Industry Trade Association (IBITA).
Korean brand DERMAFIRM offered a broad range of skincare solutions for blemishes, dryness, aging and sensitive skin, as well as basic makeup and beauty tools. All DERMAFIRM products are made without tar, parabens, mineral oils, triclosan, hydroquinone or diazolidinyl urea.
